The Reverend Dr. Augustus T. Curry, Esq. is the Pastor of the Cornerstone Baptist Church of Peachtree City, Georgia. He organized Cornerstone in January, 2010 as a church striving for excellence in its worship, witness, and work. Under his visionary leadership, within three years of its inception, Cornerstone has moved into their acquisition of a worship facility on a 21 acre campus in Fayette County, Georgia. There, they are carrying on 21st century ministry with a spirit of excellence and the compassion of Christ.
Reverend Curry is the youngest of four siblings born to the union of Rev. Dr. L.K. Curry and Sis. Dorothy Davis Curry. He was born in Ogden, Utah and attended elementary and high school in Chicago, Illinois. He continued his education in Atlanta, Georgia, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Morehouse College, his Master of Divinity Degree with Honors in Biblical Studies and Languages from the Morehouse School of Religion of the ITC Seminary, and his Doctorate in Law from the John Marshall School of Law.
Reverend Curry is a third generation Baptist preacher. He was licensed to preach in 1993 and ordained in 1998 by the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the Salem Baptist District Association of Chicago, Illinois. Since that time, he has been sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ across this nation. In March of 2014, he was honored by his alma mater and inducted into the distinguished Martin Luther King, Jr. Board of Preachers of Morehouse College.
Reverend Curry is also a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is a noted Trial Attorney. He has served in community and civic organizations including the Fayette County N.A.A.C.P. where he served as Legal Advisor for the Legal Redress Commission. He is married to Tonya C. Curry, Esq., and they are the proud parents of two daughters: Sarah Marie; and Maria Anne. Reverend Curry is a proponent of the belief that sound education and sound religion is an unbeatable combination.
